• the need to throw away five things every day. there is still some extraneous stuff, but not enough to warrant daily purging.

• one rear windshield. pretty suddenly.

• one t-shirt. handed down to me and worn perhaps too long.
• one nightshirt. also inherited and worn until in tatters, not long enough.
• a quantity of bits and pieces from my ten-year-old's room. i get the credit because i did all the work.

• another ball.
• another rock.
• another magnifying glass. repetition is the soul of success, in this endeavor.

• a brown t-shirt. now torn into rags, so maybe not technically thrown away.
• two magnifying glasses. not to worry, there are more.
• another sticky note pad. with less than effective magnetic backing.
• a roll of adding machine tape. yes.

• five more books. i may not ever get rid of another bookcase, but at least the books will not remain unread.
