  • a stash of paint sample cards. so...pretty...want...to...keep...
  • a pair of winter boots. i honestly have no idea how these came to live in this house.
  • one pair of glasses with no lenses. smuggled out of my daughter's room.
  • a shower cap from the ritz. ditto.
  • a practically unused pair of overall snow pants, child's size six. a warmer climate might be cheaper.

  • a pair of sunglasses. surprisingly effective, but one of possibly eight pairs in this house.
  • small pink hippo. when did we become a household overrun with stuffed animals?
  • the small bag that holds a fold-up umbrella. I am quite sure the umbrella will never fit back inside.
  • a calculator. still in packaging. why does a calculator need packaging?
  • a glass coaster/window ornament. made by me.

  • a black sweater. so i only wore it once. five bucks, not so bad.
  • a pair of reading glasses. my fourth-best, barley held together with safety pins.
  • a clay cup. might inspire me to be sentimental if i could remember which child made it.
  • a paperback. part of an art project which has fallen by the wayside.
  • three shopping bags. some people keep these, and seem to find them useful.

  • one tube of lipstick. i love lipstick. i do not really wear it.
  • one hand towel. color bias - it is purple, the others are not.
  • one tupperware bowl. still no lid.
  • one pair of glasses. worse than useless, as they almost allow me to read.
  • one purse. adored last summer. it has lost its appeal.

  • three very small notebooks. these are ridiculously hard to throw away.
  • a little pile of scrap paper. even more ridiculous to keep these.
  • one eyeglasses case. probably have glasses to recycle, too.

  • a lunch bag. worn the heck out, we like lunch.
  • a baby nail clipper. take an hour to cut one human-sized nail.
  • a pair of clip-on sunglasses. very useful.
  • a glasses case. these are available as a set.
  • a novel. which i disliked. it has a title similar to a novel that i liked, allowing it to dodge the discard pile for months.
